Re-use your existing OpenAI subscription with Downsizing. Billing stays with OpenAI — we shrink the context before it reaches them.

How it works

Downsizing compresses the context, performs various optimizations, and streams the response directly back to you. As a result, you pay for a much smaller token count, and you can track the savings on the dashboard.

Prerequisites

Connection is done through the Downsizing CLI — install it first if you haven't already.

Connect

Run the following command. You'll be prompted to pick one of three options:

Subscription — open browser

Opens the OpenAI authorisation page in your browser. Downsizing handles the OAuth callback automatically — no copy-pasting needed.

Subscription — device code

Displays a short code you enter on the OpenAI website. Useful over SSH or in environments without a browser.

Pay-per-use

No OpenAI subscription required. You pay Downsizing directly at lower-than-API rates — enable it from the dashboard.
